Are there choking hazards with small children?

Uninflated latex balloons or broken pieces can pose a choking hazard to children under 8 years old without the supervision of an adult.

Stop small children from squeezing, pulling, or sitting on full balloons, and avoid sharp objects around latex balloons to prevent scaring small children when they suddenly pop. If the balloon exploded next to the children, comfort them and keep them calm. Throw away broken pieces immediately to avoid choking hazards.
